Hi, I’m Ben. I’m a BACP-registered psychotherapist based near Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.
I offer one-to-one therapy online and by phone, supporting people who want to better understand their mental health, explore their past, and find more ease in the present. I aim to create a space that feels steady, kind, and free of judgment. A space where you can feel heard and met just as you are.
I came into this work because I care about what it means to struggle. I know how hard it can be to ask for help, or to feel like you’re carrying something no one else can quite see. Therapy shouldn’t feel out of reach. My hope is to make the process more human. Private therapy is an investment, but it’s an investment in yourself, your wellbeing, and your future. I’ll be alongside you as we figure it out together, at your own pace.
You might feel like the way you think, feel, or act has been with you for as long as you can remember. You might have learned to keep certain feelings hidden, or to survive by pushing through. I work with many people who feel stuck in patterns that started long ago. Therapy can be tender and challenging at times. We won’t erase the past, but we can begin to understand it and build something different in the present.
That said, therapy isn’t always about the past. Sometimes the work is focused on what’s happening now. If you’re looking for shorter-term support around something specific, we can work with that too.
I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. I blend different approaches depending on what feels most helpful for you. Along the way, there might be reflection, warmth, even a few laughs. Most of all, there will be space. Space to pause, to feel, and to grow into a version of yourself that feels more whole.

My Approach
I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches including Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Transactional Analysis (TA), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). As an integrative therapist, I bring these models together in a way that’s tailored to you and your needs.
At times, I may introduce resources during our sessions, send supportive materials beforehand, or offer reflections afterwards to support your process.
My Experience
I’ve been working therapeutically for several years across a variety of settings. My early work began in the criminal justice system, where I supported individuals with complex needs, including those diagnosed with personality disorders.
I have also worked as a mental health coach, delivering one-to-one and group support across Nottinghamshire.
Since 2022, I’ve been working as a therapist with a local mental health charity, supporting adults with a range of emotional and relational challenges.
My Qualifications
MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (University of Derby)
